Herman Miller Gilbert Rohde Tide Table Clock 6366 Art Deco 1930s Machine Age
Clock movement recently serviced by professional; movement lubed and re-stabilized by replacing original rubber mounts which had basically disintegrated. Clock keeps accurate time and runs smoothly. Cosmetically, a few issues; a small portion of veneer missing on top left corner (see picture). Some spots on the veneer, here and there, all pictured. Black streaks on dial between 9 and 12, apparently the hour indicator was rubbing the dial at some point, this is no longer the case. Not sure if the streaks can be removed or not. Even with the cosmetic issues noted, this clock displays nicely. Everything appears to be original, even the power cord. I believe these were produced 1933 1937. Macassar Ebony, metal and chrome-plated steel. Clock measures 16 ¼ X 3 ¼ X 6 ¼ and weighs approximately 8 lbs. Examples of this clock are in a number of museums including; Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Metropolitan Museum of Art. Package will need to be signed for.
